Kansan & Globe
Note: The Kansas City Globe was in operation in 1888. In 1918, the KANSAN took over the Globe newspaper.
8 Oct 1918: A grave situation threatens the city according to City Health Officer C W McLaughlin's announcement this morning that at least 125 cases of Spanish influenza have been reported, with one death of pneumonia following the disease. (Note: The schools were closed up to 5 weeks due to this flue epidemic.)
