We need the help of our patrons!
Compiling the History of the Public Schools of Wyandotte County, 1844-Present, is an endeavor that will take several years.
We would like to encourage our district's patrons to share any history that they have accumulated over the years (old postcards, written history articles, newspaper articles, journals, letters, etc.) that would contribute to the rich heritage we all share within this district.
We just recently obtained an item from shared by Jerry Molder of Kansas City is the "1930 By-Laws, Rules and Regulations of the Board of Education for the District of Kansas City, Kansas." Digital copy online. Mr. Molder was also kind enough to let us scan old postcards and a 1927 Central High School Commencement Program.
Periodically, we come across a specific item that is mentioned and that we hope will be found in someone's home or office. Perhaps that person will be willing to share with all.
Looking for volunteers:
To type graduation lists from schools, such as the ones we have from Rosedale.
To donate a school yearbook, that may be placed in our archives for future
generations.
School yearbooks, that may be placed in our archives for future generations.
