Bond issue approved by voters

Yes for Kids ... Bond IssueVoters approved a proposed $120 million bond issue at the Municipal Election Tuesday (April 3, 2001) to air-condition schools, improve technology, and make other upgrades to schools and public libraries."The community was willing to provide a better environment for our children," said Dr. Ray Daniels, superintendent of schools. "We are thrilled with the support voters have placed in the school district to improve the quality of life for our students and for our community."Sixty-eight percent of the 18,865 people who voted in Tuesday's election supported the bond proposal. Only a majority was needed for approval. The district is poised to move quickly to begin the projects.
