- GroupWise is in Windows format and has similar drop down menus
and icons that will perform various tasks.
- The left frame lists the different folders available to you.
- If you have incoming mail, it will automatically appear in the
frame on the right. The default of GroupWise shows the most recent
mail at the bottom.
- To open mail, double-click anywhere on the message line. Once
your mail is open, mail listing will show an open envelope.

- Click once on the File drop down menu.
- Highlight New
- A new drop down menu appears, click on Mail.

- The Mail To dialogue box will appear.
- GroupWise will automatically insert your name in the From box.
- The cursor defaults to the To box.
- To select an address, click on the Address icon on the right.

- Names are alphabetized according to first name.
- Scroll down to find the person you want to send mail to.

- Double-clicking on the person's name will enter that address
as the recipient of your mail. It will appear in the frame on
the right.
- Carbon copies and blind copies are also options. Single-click
on a person's name and choose the option in the frame on the right.
- Click on OK at the bottom left of the screen.

- The recipient's name will be inserted in the To box.
- You are now ready to enter a subject.
- Tab once and begin your message.
- It is also a good idea to spell check your message before you
send it.
- To send, click on the Send button on the right.

- If someone forward a document to you, a paperclip will appear
next to the envelope on your message line. It will also appear
as an icon on the bottom of your message screen in the Attach
frame.
- To open, double-click on the icon.
- The icon also shows what software the document was created in.
If you have trouble opening the attachment, you may not have the
correct software loaded on your computer.

- To send an attachment, create new mail.
- From the Mail To screen, click on the Attach button.
- On the attachment screen, click on Select File.
- From the Attach File screen browse your folders to locate the
document you want to attach. (Often located in My Documents folder)
- Double-click on the document. The document will be listed in
the Attach File frame.
- Close the Attach File screen.

- The document will appear as an icon in the Attach frame.
- You may add a message or send without one.
- To send, click the Send button.
- You will return to the GroupWise Mailbox opening screen.

- To log out of GroupWise, select File, then Exit.
- All mail sent and received is automatically saved to the server
in your username file.
