Notice of Time and Place of Special Meeting

A special meeting of the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education is hereby called for Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. in the third floor auditorium of the Public Library and School Administration Building, 625 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas.

The purpose and business of such special meeting shall be for the Board to discuss and consider the terms of a preliminary plan to alter the governance of the Area Technical School in accordance with Kansas law. Board members will recess to executive session under the following exceptions to the Kansas Open Meetings Act:

1. Attorney Client Exception
   • for consultation with the Board's attorney on a matter protected by the attorney-client privilege
2. Employer-Employee Negotiations Exception
   • to protect the district's right to the confidentiality of its negotiating position, and the public interest
3. Non-Elected Personnel Exception
   • to protect the privacy and interests of the individual(s) to be discussed
