William G. Cutler's History of the State of Kansas, 1883, Published by Andreas, Chicago, Illinois - Tiblow, the station on the Union Pacific next west of Edwardsville, shows signs of prosperity in a good brick schoolhouse, and several flourishing business houses. It was platted in November, 1870, John McDanield being proprietor of the town site.
In 1882, Libbie Timmons of Edwardsville attended the Wyandotte Academy located on the s.w. corner of 7th Street and Ann Avenue in Wyandott City, Kansas (later to become known as Kansas City, Kansas).
