Unknown Schools

There are more than one locations that suggest public schools stood on the property, but we have no information at this time.

We would welcome contact from any person who may have information on the following.

• The 1887 GM-Hopkins Survey map shows a "Public School" on the northwest corner of Ann Street and 5th Street.  This was in Meige's Addition and next to St. Aloysius.

• There is information that a school was located on 7th Street, north of Quindaro. It is thought that someone bought the property years ago because they wanted the stones or rocks in the schoolground area.

If anyone has information or knowledge about the above buildings, contact would be sincerely appreciated.
