Clifford H. Nowlin
From
Genevieve A. Nowlin of Independence, Missouri
To Superintendent Dr. O. L. Plucker
November 11, 1962
Dear Dr. Plucker:
My late father, Clifford H. Nowlin, was principal of Long School in 1889. He went from there to the Kansas City, Kansas High School; and after 8 years there, he came to Kansas City, Missouri where he taught 18 years at Central High School. In 1914, he became principal of Northeast High School, and Principal of Northeast Junior High School in 1922. He was appointed principal of East High School in 1926 where he served twelve years till his retirement in 1938.
He received an honor in having the new Junior High School in Independence named for him - the Clifford H. Nowlin Junior High School.
My father died September 18, 1962, at the age of 98 years. I was told that you have a place for such historical information and pictures as he had kept through the years and am sending them.
