"W. W. Boone is a product of the Kansas City, Kansas school system.  He first entered the Dunbar grade school.  After completing grade six at Dunbar, he entered Northeast Junior High School after which completing grade nine, he graduated and spent his remaining three years at Sumner High School.  After his graduation from Sumner High School, he attended the Kansas State Teachers College (now Kansas State University), Pittsburg, Kansas.  He received a B.S. Degree and a M.S. Degree in chemistry.  As a member of the U.S. Air Force during World War II, he was sent to the Pacific Theater of war.  Following the World War II days, Mr. Boone was employed as an assistant chemist for the Board of Utilities, Quindaro Plant in Kansas City, Kansas.

In the fall of 1947, he began his teaching career as a science and mathematics teacher at Northeast Junior High School.  From 1952 to 1958 he taught chemistry at Sumner High School.  He returned to Northeast Junior High School as the principal of that school in the fall of 1958.  He served as principal for fifteen years until 1973.  In the fall of 1973 he was transferred to become the assistant principal of the F. L. Schlagle High School.  He remained as an assistant principal of F. L. Schlagle High School until his retirement in 1984.  His years of service in the Kansas City, Kansas school district totaled thirty seven years.  Presently, he is serving as a member of the Board of Education, U.S.D. #500, Kansas City, Kansas."

[Annotation:  Mr. Boone served on the KCKs Board of Education from 1985 until his death in 1995.]
