The board planned a new division of schools and grades.  The Whittier School on Ivandale was enlarged to accommodate pupils of Armourdale and the schools to the south of Central Avenue from the seventh to the ninth grades in what was known as a junior high school.  Elementary schools of the district would have children in the kindergarten and first six grades and the high school those from nine to twelve.  Portables at 10th and Ivandale were provided for Whittier pupils while the building was in progress.

At 33rd and Haskell, a red brick building was erected for Parker children.  The Teacher, Katherine Van Doren, held classes in a bungalow for a few months until the building was ready.  The Wyandotte County School Treasury had $1,467.46 belonging to Melville School.  The money was turned over to Mr. Hershberger, received of Melville School, in July, 1915.

Stanley School, destroyed by fire in 1912, was replaced by a new building in 1915.  At the south entrance to the school on the second stone step near the west end is a standard "bench mark," listing the geographical position and location.  The markings are TT 6-0-1933-812, 168 feet above sea level, latitude 39-04-24.as and longitude 94-40-14.35.  TT means transit transverse station.

The markings were made by the Geographical Survey of the Department of the Interior to supply engineers with starting points for other surveys.
