"NO NAME" MUST VACATE"
School Encroaching Athletic Field to Move
The "No Name" school at Fourteenth Street and Armstrong Avenue is now about to lose its home. A committee of school board members and patrons is searching for a new location for the school. The site the building occupies belongs to the school athletic field.
"We will place the building in a location approved by sentiment in that school district," said W. A. Seymour, clerk of the board of education.
A committee to investigate sites for the new location is composed of M. E. Pearson, superintendent of schools, Mr. Seymour, R. B. Smith, D. Friedman of the board and these patrons: Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Carlson, J. G. Boomer and A. H. Gillis.
Three sites are being considered.
The board expects to have the school ready for occupancy by September.
Note: This school still stands in 2007 as McKinley Elementary School, 611 N. 14th Street.
