TITLE II - HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS

Under No Child Left Behind (NCLB), funds are available to staff members who DO NOT meet the Kansas guidelines for Highly Qualified Staff.  In order to access the funds, teachers must meet the criteria outlined within this document, complete the Kansas Highly Qualified Teachers Rubric and HQT Application, submitting them to the Federal Programs Office for review and approval by the district Professional Development Council.

• Teachers must be assigned to a certified teaching position in which they lack the qualifications for HQT (Highly Qualified Teachers)
  • Not endorsed in subject
  • Holds emergency, temporary, or provisional certification

OR

• • Teaching at middle school level with elementary endorsement
  • Received first Kansas certification before 1982

AND

• Earned less than 100 points on Kansas Content Rubric
