If you obtained a masters degree or above before 2003, you may be able to renew with 2 years of teaching experience within the validity of your license. If you would like to renew using 120 inservice points, contact Tanya Davis at 627-2421 for an official transcript.
If you have a bachelors degree with a 5 year standard certificate, you will need 80 inservice points and 4 graduate credits that align with your Individual Development Plan. You may also renew with 8 graduate credits that align with your Individual Development Plan.
If you have a bachelor's degree with a 3 year standard certificate/license, you are eligible to receive a 5 year certificate/license if you have 2 years teaching experience within the 3 years of the validity of your certificate/license.
Request 2 sealed transcript/s sent to you from your colleges/universities for any graduate hours to be used for license renewal.
Obtain the application from the State Department of Education. KSDE website: www.ksde.org to download the application or receive an application at Human Resources when arriving.
Notify the Human Resources Office / Tanya Davis (627-2421) when the college/university transcripts are received. The transcript/s will be reviewed and, if the courses taken match your IDP Plan goal/s, the hours will be converted to IDP Points and added to your IDP transcript.
After IDP points have been reviewed and your record has been updated, the IDP Transcript will be printed.

You will need to complete a new Individual Development Plan. In order to accrue points for your next license renewal, you MUST have a current IDP Plan on file in the Office of Human Resources, so please return the completed form immediately.
If your license has expired more than 6 months, please contact KSDE at (785) 291-3678 for information on renewal.
