What is the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)?
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a three-hour achievement/aptitude test. Scores on the two main sections (verbal and mathematics) are reported on a scale of 200-800. Many colleges require that admissions candidates take this test. These test scores give college admissions officers and scholarship sponsors one indication of a student's ability to do college work.

What is the American College Testing Program (ACT)?
The ACT Assessment® is designed to assess high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.
The tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science.
Each section is scored separately, and a composite score is the most commonly reported index in the program. ACT uses a low scale of 1 to a high of 36 in scoring each subtest.
