Reasons to Believe

2002 Alumni Recognition

Reasons to Believe LogoDistrict Seeks 'Inspiring' Alumni

The district is seeking success stories of district alumni to encourage and inspire today's students through the second annual Reasons to Believe Alumni Honor Roll.

The Alumni Honor Roll is part of the Reasons to Believe program, designed to generate pride and celebrate the progress being made in the school district. Last year, 13 alumni were highlighted and honored through the program for their contributions to the community and their profession, their support of the district and more.

"We want to recognize school district alumni and tell their success stories because we believe they hold tremendous power in painting a picture of opportunity for our students," said Dr. Ray Daniels, superintendent, during the program kick-off in 2002.

In addition to serving as role models for students, the Alumni Honor Roll underscores the key role that teachers, school administrators, and community and business leaders often play in helping students achieve success.

Anyone can nominate alumni for the Honor Roll. Nomination forms are available on the district's web site, www.kckps.org (go to Community Information), and will be sent to each school. The deadline for returning nominations is Friday, Feb. 21.

Alumni selected for recognition will be announced in the spring. Call the Public Information Office, (913) 279-2242, for more information.
