Michael Dan Woolridge

F. L. Schlagle High School — Class of 1988

Michael Dan WoolridgeMichael Woolridge never missed a single day of school — ever — from the time he entered kindergarten until he graduated from F. L. Schlagle High School in 1988. That's because his parents, Dan and Lula Woolridge, taught him it simply wasn't acceptable to miss school. "My parents taught me the importance of discipline. Their love, guidance, and belief in Jesus Christ gave me reasons to believe and helped me succeed in high school and college," says Michael. He also cites his football coach, Randy Westfahl, and his coach's family as instrumental to his development.

Football was Michael's passion in school. After receiving All League, All Metro, All State, and Player of the Year Awards, he received a football scholarship to Oklahoma State University. There, he was a four-year starter playing linebacker and was voted team captain in 1992. He was named to the All Big Eight Team in 1992 and the All-Time OSU Football Team in 1998.

After graduating in 1992 with a degree in sociology, Michael received the Hitachi Promise of Tomorrow Academic Post Graduate Scholarship and completed his master's degree in individual and family communication. Since then, he has earned several certifications, including that of Licensed Practical Counselor and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

Michael currently utilizes his skills as a United States probation officer in Tulsa, Okla., and is a deacon for his church. He and his wife, Melissa, live in Tulsa, with their daughter, Morgan.
