26 KCKPS Students to Share Their Engineering Academy Experiences

They've spent their summer exploring robotics, designing and building a random number generator, touring local companies and engaging with engineering professionals. Now 26 high school students from the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) will share their experiences.

The students took part in the 2011 Engineering Academy, a cooperative effort between KCKPS, Kansas City Kansas Community College and PREP-KC. The goal of the six-week program is to deepen career connections for these pre-engineering students and give them an exciting start to their college career.

The students will present demonstrations on what they've learned Thursday, July 14 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Upper Jewell center at KCKCC. The program will conclude with an awards presentation, which will include all students being presented with certificates of completion for participating in the program.
