Kanrocksas is making an ongoing annual commitment to grow its support and partnerships with the community as it continues to establish and create a major national music festival. The inaugural Kanrocksas Music Festival has partnered with four primary charities in the local area to create a dedicated "Charity Village" that focuses on the four pillars of need and a Text to Donate opportunity for Fans and the community to support these four charities.
Bridging the Gap strives to make the Kansas City region environmentally sustainable through awareness in the community by educating citizens, businesses and government on the impact of the environment on both the present and future. represents the green initiative pillar; Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation for Excellence is a not-for-profit organization that works to embrace, empower and assist the Kansas City, Kansas Public School district with the goal to help students excel with educational opportunities and initiatives. KCKSFFE represents the primary education pillar; Operation Breakthrough helps children living in poverty in the Kansas City area by providing a safe, loving and educational environment in order to develop to their fullest potential. In 1971, Operation Breakthrough opened in response to the need for quality child care for children of lower-income families in the Metropolitan area. Operation Breakthrough serves as the urban core youth pillar; Turning Point assists individuals, families and friends living with serious or chronic physical illnesses by providing innovative education services and tools to empower and transform the mind, body and spirit. Turning Point represents the health and wellness pillar for Kanrocksas Music Festival.
Text to Donate is a special mobile fundraising campaign that has been set up by the MGive Foundation. Fans can text the word "SUPPORT" to 80077 to make a one-time donation of $5.00, which will be added to their monthly cell phone bill. Funds will be donated for the benefit of the Four Charities of Choice.
Kanrocksas also added 10 additional charities to come and share their cause to the 30,000 plus fans that will be in attendant of the 1st Annual Kanrocksas Music Festival.
