KCKPS Superintendent Awarded Superintendent of Promise Award
Dr. Cynthia Lane, superintendent of the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools received one of four 2011 Superintendent of Promise awards, presented to her on June 16, 2011 by the Executive Board of the Kansas School Superintendents Association. This award recognizes first year superintendents who demonstrate clear vision, courageous decision-making, and a focus on student achievement. Dr. Lane was nominated by school board president Gloria Willis and Dr. Michelle Sedler, superintendent of the Turner School District, who also serves as a mentor for Dr. Lane.
