Claude Huyck Elementary School — Uniform Policy
Tops:
- Colors: Solid white, navy, black or light blue.
- Tops must have sleeves ranging from short to full length.
- Tops may include polo, turtlenecks, or dress shirts.
- Tops must fit the student and be worn tucked in at all times.
- Tops may not have lettering, pictures, logos, labels or designs (except school spirit shirts).
- Students may wear sweaters, vests or sweatshirts with a collared shirt underneath.
- Claude Huyck Spirit Shirts may be worn on Fridays instead of a uniform top.
Bottoms:
- Colors: Solid navy, black or khaki.
- Styles: Slacks, shorts, skirts, skorts or jumpers.
- No denim jeans, shorts or skirts, sweat or sports pants will be allowed.
- Styles must fit at the waist or a belt must be worn. No sagging will be allowed.
- Hems on shorts, skorts, and jumpers must be no shorter than mid thigh.
- Twill or slack-style cargo pants may be worn.
Additional Uniform Information:
- No oversized clothing — all styles must fit the child.
- No "headwear" is to be worn unless approved for religious purposes.
- Articles related to gangs or gang activities such as jewelry, emblems, or symbols are prohibited.
- On scheduled monthly dress down days, students should wear school appropriate attire.
- Students who are not in uniform will be sent to the office to change if clothing is available, or to call home for a change of clothing.
