PDC Team Member Responsibilities

• Support the KCKPS Board and District's purpose and strategic priorities
• Collaborate to create the district's five year Professional Development Plan
• Participate in decision making
• Collaborate to provide high quality professional learning experiences at district/building inservices
• Understand KSDE licensure requirements in relationship to professional development
• Recommend professional development inservices that meet KSDE regulations
• Design and implement a strategy to communicate effective professional development practices
• Collaborate to respond to changes in district, state, and national education regulations and policies that impact professional development
• Coordinate and review building professional development plan to assure alignment with the District Improvement Plan
• Serve on PDC subcommittees as needed
• Attend quarterly after school meetings and annual PDC training
• Willing to serve for an initial term of up to three years
• Must have completed at least one year of contracted teaching experience in USD 500

We are seeking teachers from regular ed. Pre-K through grade 12, Fine Arts, ESL, Special Ed, and instructional coaches to become team members. Applications will be accepted through 4:30 on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Be prepared to provide the following information on the application: professional organizations to which you've belonged in the last 5 years and the reason why you want to serve on the Professional Development Council. Also you will include a brief 3 sentence explanation of why you want to be on the Professional Development Council which will be included in a SIP prior to voting for the team members.
